Class X student stabbed to death by jilted lover for wanting to study further

Dhanashree Molkar, a 16-year-old student from Jogeshwari, was brutally killed by her ex-lover on Saturday for wanting to pursue higher education. According to the Mid-Day report, Dhanashree scored 85% marks in the SSC exam results declared on Monday.

Dhanashree's dream was to become a journalist, but her mother was quoted in the report saying, "now everything is finished." Dhanashree had met Prateek Kubal, a hardware engineer from Virar, during a visit to her hometown. They grew close, but Dhanashree's father warned her to focus on her studies and she ended the relationship.

Prateek, however, kept calling her, and they agreed to meet to exchange some photos. During the meeting, Dhanashree told him that this would be the last time they would see each other. This enraged Kubal, and he stabbed her multiple times in the chest, abdomen, and arms. The Meghwadi police arrested Kubal, and he was produced in court after being kept in remand for two days.
