Sahibabad: Engineering student commits suicide suspecting hidden cameras in bathroom
A 23-year-old female student of a private engineering college in Sahibabad was found hanging in her hostel room on Wednesday. The deceased student, Sarika, had suspected that hidden cameras were fitted in her bathroom. In her suicide note, she accused the college management of not providing her with adequate security to ensure her safety and dignity. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anant Dev, confirmed the contents of the suicide note.
However, the college management claimed that Sarika was frustrated with not being selected by any company during campus placement and was not given a job. They also accused the police of foul play for not disclosing the contents of the suicide note on the day of her death.
The police have formed a special team to investigate the case and will take legal action against all those found responsible for Sarika's death. Meanwhile, all female students of the college are demanding a search of all bathrooms in the hostel as the details of the suicide note have been made public.
