Crime Patrol: Man shoots his wife dead, injures father-in-law (Episode 280 on 9th Aug 2013)

The Inside Story

Tragic Shooting at Karkardooma Metro Station in Delhi

A marital discord turned deadly when a 30-year-old man, Pawan, shot and killed his wife, Deepti, and critically injured her father, Bhisham Das, at the Karkardooma Metro Station in East Delhi. The incident occurred shortly after Deepti and Das had attended a court hearing at the Karkardooma courts and were on their way home to Chirag Dilli, South Delhi. Pawan, who was upset over the ongoing legal case, fled the scene after the shooting.

Pawan used a double-barrel gun to shoot Deepti and Das while they were on an escalator inside the station premises. The gun was later recovered from nearby bushes. The couple had been married for seven years but had separated in 2012, with Deepti moving back to her parents' home. A case under the Hindu Marriage Act was pending between them, and the shooting took place on the day of the court hearing.

Deepti tragically lost her life as the bullet pierced her heart, while Das suffered two bullet injuries and was rushed to GTB Hospital for surgery. His condition remains critical due to excessive bleeding. The police are actively searching for Pawan, who fled the crime scene, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
