KALYAN: A 30- year old woman was arrested for killing a 25-year old woman whom her husband had married a year ago in Dombivli.

The accused Rohima Islam was angry with the deceased Aysha Khan because her husband Kareem Khan married her against her wish and started neglecting her and her family.

Police have also arrested the woman's nephew Rana Mallik,19, who helped Rohima kill Aysha. The Manpada police adressing a press conference said last year on December 2 they found the decomposed body of Ayasha lying in her flat.

The police had initially suspected husband Kareem's role behind the murder as he had gone missing. However, during the probe police traced the West Bengal-based residence of Kareem where cops visited and learnt that his first wife Rohima who stays in Dombivli could be behind the killing.

Gautam Randive, senior police inspector of Manpada police station said, "During interrogation of Rohima in Dombivli she confessed about the murder which she had committed with the help of her nephew Rana, whom we later arrested."

Both the accused on Friday were arrested and later produced in the Kalyan court which remanded them in police custody for eight days.
