Housewife Murdered in Maruti Vihar, Gurgaon

A 28-year-old housewife, Sweta Singh, was found murdered in her first-floor house in Maruti Vihar, Sector-29 on Tuesday. Her body was found in a pool of blood inside her bedroom, and her clothes were found lying nearby. According to investigators, Sweta had married Karukku Rajan early last year and was a native of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Her husband works as an accountant with a private company in Sushant Lok, Gurgaon.

According to Karukku's statement, he had left home around 9:30 am and talked to his wife around 2:30 pm, and everything was fine till that time. But when he returned home in the evening around 6:30, he found the main door of his flat open. Karukku found Sweta bleeding, and the police were immediately called. "We have registered a case of murder against unknown persons and for destroying the evidence of crime. We are looking into all aspects of the case. The postmortem report is likely to reveal the reason behind the murder," said Sector-29 SHO Jagdish Prasad.

Police officers who rushed to the spot in the evening said that there was no sign of the killer entering the flatforcibly. It appeared to be a friendly entry, and someone known to the victim might have committed the crime, said a police official. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are examining all aspects of the case to bring the perpetrator to justice.
