Son Avenges Father's Murder 22 Years Later

In a plot resembling a B-grade Bollywood movie, Arun Yadav (36) sought revenge for his father's murder by killing Bhola Oraon (45), the head of Balshokra village in Chanho. Oraon had been accused of murdering Yadav's father back in 1992.

Police arrested Arun Yadav in a late-night raid on Sunday in Chanho village, eight days after he allegedly shot and stabbed Oraon in a deserted area. According to Khelari DSP Radha Prem Kishore, the accused claimed that he took the life of Oraon to avenge his father's death when he was just 14 years old.

The mukhiya, Oraon, had gone to a marketplace on the evening of February 9 but failed to return home. His abandoned bike was found near a road in Chanho, and locals discovered his body soon after. The incident triggered widespread protests in the Chanho area, with residents blocking the Ranchi-Chanho highway. Yadav's accomplices are currently being sought by the police.
