Crime Patrol: 26-YEAR-OLD WOMAN MURDERED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT IN ROORKEE (Episode 747, 746 on 16th, 18th December 2016)

A 26-year-old woman named Sandhya Bhatia was shot dead by two unidentified men on Sunday morning in Roorkee, while she was taking milk outside her rented house. Sandhya worked as a receptionist in an automobile showroom in Roorkee and was living with her friend in Nehru colony. The shooters used a country-made gun, and the police have registered a case on behalf of her friend. The deceased's parents have refused to file a case. However, the police have gathered evidence through CCTV footage and mobile surveillance and believe that the accused knew Sandhya very well. It appears to be a love affair that led to the murder, according to SP Rural Pramendra Dobhal.

Sandhya's parents lived in the civil line area of Roorkee, but Sandhya had some disputes with them over her personal life, so she was living separately. The police have sent the body of the woman for an autopsy. Dobhal said that they would open the case soon as they have some evidence that could lead to the accused. The incident has created a sense of fear and insecurity among the residents of the Nehru colony.
