The Amritsar rural police have announced the arrest of a gang of contract killers, allegedly hired by a constable from the 4th Battalion of the Commando unit of the Punjab Police, to eliminate his own uncle. Constable Ramandeep Singh, along with gang members Jaspal Masih, Nirmal Singh, Bau Singh, and Amarjit Singh, has been apprehended, while two other accused individuals, Money and Akash, remain at large.

Senior Superintendent of Police PS Virk revealed that a police team received information about the gang's plan to carry out an attack. Acting on this tip-off, the police conducted a raid and arrested the five individuals, including constable Ramandeep Singh. During preliminary questioning, it was uncovered that the accused had previously attacked Bhupinder Singh, the constable's uncle, with the intent to murder him.

Constable Ramandeep Singh had allegedly hired the contract killers and promised them a payment of Rs. 6 lakh. According to the SSP, there had been a longstanding enmity between the constable and his uncle. The police have recovered three pistols, a .12-bore gun, and ammunition from the gang members.

While addressing the media, Superintendent of Police Jadeep Singh stated that further investigations were underway to determine if the gang had been involved in any other incidents.
