Four Alleged Contract Killers Arrested During Jewellery Store Robbery Attempt

Police sources reported that a robbery attempt at a jewellery store was foiled and four alleged contract killers were arrested in the north-west suburb of Andheri, Mumbai. The suspects were identified as Mahesh Nagnath Mandekar (25), Santosh Anand Mane (23), Amar Anand Kudale (24), and Namdeo Baburao Kalse (22). They were taken into custody while behaving suspiciously on Tuesday.

During the arrest, two factory-made pistols, a country-made revolver, and 12 live rounds were found in possession of the suspects. The senior officer from the Andheri police station said that all four have past criminal records and were involved in serious crimes such as murder and attempted murder. Mane hailed from Mumbai, while the rest were from Pune. They were attempting to rob the jewellery store when they were caught.

According to the police, during interrogation, the suspects admitted to taking a 'supari' (contract killing sum) to kill a city-based builder and a trade union leader from Pune. The officer added that the four would be presented before a local court for remand on Wednesday. The officer clarified that this was a separate gang and not associated with any organised crime syndicates.
